A Bit of an Update

So I've been meaning to post for the past two weeks but just haven't gotten around to it.  I haven't taken a ton of pictures either so I'll post what I have.

We are down to 12 days away from our due date as of tomorrow with this baby boy.  I have just about everything I need to get done, done... I still look around and see things that I'd like to do but I'm getting more and more to the point where I just want to take it easy.  And honestly, my body is starting to make me take it easy as I'm a little more uncomfortable this go around.  I'm also not sleeping much, though I know from personal experience that it's about to be even less -  especially not being able to sleep when the baby sleeps this time.  All that said, it's totally worth it and I can't wait to meet this little guy and hold and kiss on him!

How about some pictures of AR and what she's up to these days?!
She found daddy's boots AND socks... which were thigh-highs on her!

She still loves her babies and it doesn't matter which one and she loves her bibles.  Here she's reading one of her bibles to a baby.
Feeding baby some oatmeal or applesauce!
Whenever I am cooking in the kitchen AR wants to be right beside me watching and now she's starting to imitate me.  Since my kitchen is rather small, I have to move ALL the ingredients to the opposite side of the stove making it tight on me, but I love having her there with me and love that she is excited about cooking... so far, that is!
She ran off to her kitchen and got some of her own utensils but I think she dirtied all of my measuring spoons... might need to run to the dollar store and get her some of her own!
If you needed proof that she's my daughter, here she is downing a hard boiled egg - one of my favorites!

The other week, AR and I headed down to Aunt Katie's farm and enjoyed playing on the tractors and seeing the animals.  She had just been there so she knew her way around and just what she wanted to do!  She even got out of the truck and said "combine" at the right tractor!!!!!!  I don't know one tractor from another!

Wearing her "I Love My Aunt" shirt... you can guess who bought her that one!
Petting Daisy
Trying out the tractors!

There's a good chance the next time your hear from me will be with an update on the birth of our little boy.  All prayers are greatly appreciated as we anticipate his arrival!

She's 2!!

In all seriousness, I feel like it really was just a few months ago that we brought home this tiny little newborn girl and now here we are with a 2 year old who is the size of a 3 yr old and a month away of bringing home another newborn.  Though I'm afraid this little boy won't be quite as small as AR was!

AR got to celebrate for a second time at Lovey and Grand Daddy's house this past weekend and had a blast!  After the pictures from her party I will post an update on what all our 2 yr old is up to and of course her newest stats!

We actually don't watch Sesame Street that much but AR has known who Elmo was for a long time now and can spot that red monster anywhere we go.  So since that was one of the few things I knew she was interested in I decided to go with the Elmo theme for her party.  I found a cake I liked on Pinterest that was pink, orange, and red and went with those colors.

She successfully blew her candle out this time!

Cake and a Cherry Lemon Sundrop Slushie... does it get any better?!
So glad Heather and Benjamin were able to make it again this year!!  Also, super excited to be having babies together this year!

This is the difference in 20 wks and a 2nd pregnancy vs. a 1st!  Not to mention the fact that I haven't been sick and have been eating like a horse!  :)

Bath time just got a bit better!

Playing with some new toys!

AR LOVED this bowling set!  She'd get so excited that she'd shake her fists saying "Do it again, do it again!"  It was super cute!
Swinging with Aunt Heather

This girl loves her Aunt Katie!
AR at 2 years:
-37.8 inches tall (101%)
-33lb (97%)
-favorite foods:  cheese and applesauce (which I think she believes is ice cream or something)... also loves fruits of all kinds
-favorite books:  loves any of her Bibles and Brown Bear, Brown Bear
-favorite toys:  baby dolls and accessories; shopping cart; her new tricycle; Legos; anything to do with being outside
-she's all girl and loves to try on clothes but sometimes fights me on the bows or ponytails unless, of course, it is her idea!
-we cannot get over her vocabulary growth in just this past month alone... she's constantly saying a word that I didn't know she even knew; for instance, the other day in the car she just starts saying "I genius" after her daddy had asked her the day before if she was a genius!  She is up to 4 word sentences and sometimes 5 words!
-still wearing diapers and will continue to do so until a few months after baby brother comes
-loves her paci way too much... we are trying to limit it to bed and car but I fear with the baby that might be tough
-loves to sing and her favorite songs are the ABC's; Jesus Loves Me; Wagon Wheel (the line "rock me mama" in particular)
-starting to count a little bit (says 1,2, 5,6,7 right now) and starting to show some interest in colors (oddly enough orange and purple do seem to be her favorite right now!)
-has a great imagination and is often going "bye, bye" to either Mimi's house or to buy applesauce!  She does "go to" other's houses too, especially after having been there!  This morning she was "going to" Buddy's house (my sister's dog).
-she is a bit hardheaded too and will often test us when we tell her not to do something... this is something I have little patience for and have to pray about.

We love this little girl so much and can't imagine life without her and can barely remember it before her!  I have gotten the video camera back out and hope to have some videos to share soon!

Beach Trip

We were fortunate to be able to go to the beach again this Spring and this year we took Mimi and Papa with us.  We all had a great time and AR really loved the beach much more than last year.
She loved running on the sand!

All ready to go to the beach, though this day was pretty chilly.
On our 2nd full day, some good friends on mine from Clemson who have recently moved near the beach we were at were able to come spend much of the day with us!  We enjoyed their company so much and wish they were closer to us!  I found the idea above on Pinterest and had William recreate it and the kids loved it!

Going to see the sand shark!
The only catch of the weekend... and not by Papa or William!  :)
Soaking in their homemade pool!
AR spending some time with Mimi and Papa
Only a daddy comes up with the idea to bury his child in the sand!!
The babes with their daddies!

Some photos from our mini photo shoot:

Almost 34 weeks in this picture

The day we left, Papa went to get Grayson and Caroline from their other grandparents to help get them back home.  AR enjoyed her short visit with them and has mentioned them just about every day since then.  Unfortunately, no pics with Caroline.
This girl will not keep and bow or ponytail in her hair and it drives me insane to see the hair in her eyes!  She doesn't seem to mind it though!
