Meeting More Family!

Last week, Abby Ruth got to meet her fun and silly Uncle Andrew! He was visiting my in-laws, so we headed up there for the evening and went out to eat and hung out. It was great spending some time with Andrew as we only see him a couple times a year. I know Abby Ruth will love him b/c he is def. the "fun" uncle!

This weekend, we went to my hometown and Abby Ruth got to meet her other two great-grandmothers, her great aunt and uncle, her great-great aunt, and some cousins! Whew... we were worn out when we got home! She did really well for all of them and they enjoyed meeting her. I wanted her to meet them before my sister's wedding this weekend b/c I knew that there would be a lot more ppl there who haven't met her yet and would want to.

William and I were also reassured in our decision to move AR to her own room this past weekend. I never in all my life knew that an infant could make soooo much noise! She grunts mostly and we got very little sleep being in the same room with her! I pulled a "Pollyanna" and reminded myself that I would much rather be hearing those noises and not sleeping than not ever hearing them.
How one looks after getting 3-4 hours of sleep.
This might be one of the few times she looks like me!  ha!
On Friday we went to AR's one month checkup and things were looking good. She is up to 9lbs and 13oz. and is 22 inches long. I forgot to take her one month picture that day so I took it today and sadly, she's not the happiest in it but it'll do!

Starting to fit in some new clothes - this is both exciting and sad at the same time for me.

"I got Daddy good!!"  Oh the joys of parenthood!

Life with an Infant

I finally feel like things are starting to fall into place and we are starting to see a new "normal" in our life. I guess you could say that I'm coming out of "survival mode" now. Abby Ruth is sleeping in her crib at nights and for most naps... a few naps she might take in her swing or in the stroller when we go for a walk. Her feedings are going well and she's staying more alert and focused now. We think we've even had a hint of a smile the other day!

Here are a few of her latest pics:

Taking a snooze

Ready to go eat with Lovey, Granddaddy, Aunt Katie, and Michelle... the bow was clipped to all of like 3 strands of hair and fell out as soon as she was picked up - but it looked cute!

Meeting Michelle for the first time!

All sprawled out!

I found this little outfit at Goodwill and couldn't resist though I knew it was the wrong season... but it was chilly last night!

What a pitiful face... :(

Mother's Day and More

So I'm just now getting around to blogging about my very first Mother's Day. Mother's Day was very special for me and I consider it such a blessing to have Abby Ruth in my life now.  She and William were very good to me this past weekend.  They got me a card, a necklace that has my initials on one side and "Love Abby Ruth, 5-8-11 on the other, and I was taken out to dinner and for ice cream!  I will have pics of the necklace later for you, but I assure you that it is beautiful!  Abby Ruth was a great sport while going out to eat and then to get ice cream downtown.  Life has changed for sure - now we have to go out to eat, come home to feed, and then go get ice cream!  It seems that everything revolves around when her next eating time is!

We also got to meet up with William's parents and grandparents for supper on Mother's Day.  We had a great time visiting with them at Cracker Barrel!  Here is William trying to get out of a child's rocking chair and grandmama enjoying time with Abby Ruth.

This past week, my inlaws were here with us.  My mother-in-law was here with me all during the day, allowing me to run errands and helping with Abby Ruth.  It was a huge blessing to have her here and really helped me get caught up on some stuff.  We enjoyed spending the evenings with both of them... and Heather too, who graced us with her presence both Wed. and Thurs. to work on wedding invites and a cake!

I really didn't do a good job on pics this past week and for that I apologize.  I will put a few of the latest that I have though when she is exactly 3 weeks old!

A Few New Pics

Well, my first week at home by myself has come to an end.  I have to say it was much different than a few weeks ago!  Lots of naps were involved for the both of us and not a lot of cleaning.  I'll be glad for things to get in somewhat of a routine.  I will say the mornings have been the worse for me... I knew having a baby that things would get emotional, but I don't think I expected to have so much of what they call the "Baby Blues".  Today, however, was much better though.

Yesterday was also my first day to drive in over 2 weeks... it felt good to get out.  Today, we went to Babies'R'us to pick up a few things that we needed.  Next week, Abby Ruth and I are looking forward to spending some time with her Mimi.

Here are some of her latest pics:
On Monday, my friend Meredith came to take some pics of AR and this is her afterwards... all worn out!

Looking cute for her daddy!

First Day Trip

This past weekend my parents came up on Friday to stay the night and go to a wedding the next day.  It was nice having Lovey and Granddaddy to love on Abby Ruth and she enjoyed it very much.

Spending some time with Granddaddy.

On Saturday, we took our first "long" road trip of about 45 minutes to Clinton so that AR could meet her cousin Caroline, who is 8 days older than her.  She also got to meet other members of the family and hang out with her Mimi and Papa.

Mollie and I minus our pregnant bellies and with our babies.

Mimi picked out these adorable pink smocked dresses with bonnets, as well as the booties.  They were absolutely precious... I think I could dress her like this everyday!

Our first family pic... besides the hospital one.

He's totally wrapped.

She's already a daddy's girl!

Precious hands

So AR was getting hungry and she latched on to Caroline's elbow and went to town!  haha.
