12 Months!

Abby Ruth turned 1 last Friday and I still cannot believe it!  We had to wait until yesterday to go for her year check up, but everything looked good.  She's no long off the charts for her height, but apparently her head took that lead!

I'm glad this is the last monthly photo as they are practically impossible to take anymore!  This is the best I could get!

12 Month Stats
Weight:  23lb 8oz (83%)
Height: 31in (95%)
Head:  47.6cm (101%)

What she's doing these days:
-EVERYTHING (or so it seems!)
-sleeps 11-12 hrs a night
-takes 2 naps (about 1 1/2 hr each)
-eats 3 meals and 1 snack each day
-drinks 4 sippy cups of whole milk a day (roughly 16-24oz, though I don't measure)
-has tried taking a step a few times and has gotten in 2 steps once or twice
-can walk with a walker or person very well; even just holding one hand
-her new favorite trick is smacking her lips
-talks all the time, but still hasn't really said "mama" or "dada" in correlation to us
-loves handing us stuff
-loves to stand on her own
-has 8 teeth, but I believe a 9th one is pushing through

Here's a glimpse into life with a 1 year old!
One of her favorite sitting positions, which was one of her daddy's at this age too!
Into everything!  Loves to empty her diaper bag.
Monthly picture fail!
Standing up
She LOVES her book with all of her family members in it!  She will even giggle and clap sometimes when flipping through!
Getting her book down!  I have had to move it because the pages are easy to rip.

Taking another look.
Things aren't always smiles around here!  I'm sure I made her mad somehow; probably told her "no".
Praying that she can handle the next 17 years at home with us!
This is one of her favorite toys
Practicing that hand-eye coordination by putting a cheerio in the heart shaped toy and taking it back out.  Totally her idea.
She's so talented she can use the walker backwards!
She also love to wear these like bracelets and will wear it all around the house.  She may be more girly than her mama (though it doesn't take much to do so)!
I got out a few kitchen utensils that I don't use often and put them in a mixing bowl to keep on the kitchen floor for AR to play with when she's in there with me.  She actually really enjoys playing with the items in there, especially the steak knives... jk.
Our growth chart with AR's measurements of birth, 6M and 12M... she's grown 11 1/2 inches since she was born!
Life with a 1 year old is busy, busy, busy, but tons of fun!  I love this girl to the moon and back and wouldn't trade anything for where we are in life right now.  We are truly blessed!  Can't wait to see what the Lord has in store for this little girl!

Happy Birthday Sweet Girl

We have been blessed to have Abby Ruth here was us for a whole year so far!  She has brought so much joy and love into our lives, not that we can remember life before her!  We had to reschedule our one year checkup until next Tuesday, but I be updating when I have her new stats... if my scale is correct, she's up to 23-24 pounds!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO OUR PRECIOUS GIRL!

Hodge-podge

This is just a little update on what we've been up to since the last post.

First, since we were away over Easter, the Easter Bunny had to come a little late to bring AR her goodies.

This past weekend, my sister was going home so we took advantage and sent AR with her so that she could spend the weekend with Lovey and Grand Daddy.  I think they had a great time and we were able to get lots done.  I worked most of Saturday in the yard and got some other little projects done as well.  One of these projects was trying out this headlight cleaning method I found via pinterest.  As you can see it worked pretty well, there are still some scratches but it looks much better.

We were glad to get AR back on Sunday and are looking forward to celebrating her first birthday this week!  Can't believe it's already here!

Who remembers life without cheerios all over the floor?  I don't!  Love this girl!

3 Birthdays and Easter

This is going to be a rather long post, but with lots of fun pictures (sorry for randomness of order in some places)!  Enjoy!

Thursday:  My mama and great aunt, JJ, went to us to the Living Gallery at BJU.  If you have never been you need to b/c it's so good.  Aunt Katie was nice to babysit AR for us while we were gone.  That same evening I decorated all 3 birthday cakes for this weekend.
AR visiting with JJ
Working on one of the girl's cakes.  Just not the same without Heather... and it didn't help that our antenna wasn't working right so I didn't get to watch American Idol while decorating either.
Friday:  We headed to Mimi and Papa's house for a very eventful weekend.  We celebrated Grayson's 3rd birthday Friday evening.  Mollie had a cute sock monkey theme to go along.

William was nice enough to do the writing for me.

It had been 3 months since seeing the Hayes last, so things were much different.  Both girls are standing some on their own and we're just waiting on them to walk.
Attempt #1 at a cousin photo.
Saturday:  We celebrated the girls' 1st birthdays!  (a little early since everybody was together)

I didn't get a good picture of the whole dining room, but here is one of the high chairs all ready for the girls' party.

AR loved her cake!  She didn't dive in but we eventually had to take it away from her b/c I'm pretty sure she'd have eaten the whole thing!  Can't wait to see what she does when we celebrate with my family!
Caroline on the other hand was not a fan.

Grayson and AR did not like having all 3 cousins in the wagon at once.

We visited the farm animals

Sunday:  We celebrated Easter with the whole family.

Mimi made these matching outfits for each of the grandchildren.  Aren't they beautiful, the outfits and the children!  We will cherish this dress very much.

You may remember a picture from last year showing the four of us pregnant together.  We were all due within about 3-4 weeks of each other and still came in about that time frame, though the orders switched!

Daddy Mac and Grandmama preparing for the Easter egg hunt!

Papa and Mimi with their three grandchildren.
The whole family!  I have to say that this turned out quite good!  So thankful the Lord has placed these people in my life.
Special thanks to Mimi and Papa for such a great weekend!
