Our February

It's not quite the end of February yet but there is a (very good) chance I won't post again until March at the rate I've been going!  I will let the latest pictures and captions tell you what we've been up to this month!

One of AR's favorite activities is puzzles!  She will do the same one over and over and I have found that she does them much better with me at a distance rather than close to her.  She often gets frustrated and wants me to help her when I'm closer.
She also loves bags and by loves I mean LOVES.  I recently found her in her room with her diapers thrown everywhere so that she could have her diaper caddy free for carrying all her stuff.  I love seeing what combinations she makes in her bags!
And mega blocks would be her other favorite around here!  Just in the past couple weeks she has recently started playing with them on her own.  She also loves for Daddy to build her a tower that she can destroy!
Got a snuggie, phone, and kindle... I'd say she's ready to lounge!
All AR's hair before her first "haircut"
I tried to take a picture of her sleeping b/c she looked so peaceful and cute, but the light made her scrunch her face up some.
Giving baby a diaper change before we head out!
More puzzle action... and can I just say that I was very impressed she was able to do this puzzle.  I know that other 22 months old are capable, but it impressed me so much I got online to find the age for it and it's 3-4 years!
 AR's first haircut:
Ready to go w/ her sucker in hand

Excuse my lack of style here... I wear what fits and what is comfortable, sorry.
Some of the remnants that didn't fall on the floor... and I didn't save any, that kind of grosses me out.

The finished product.  I only trimmed the back and just a few strands of her bangs that were longer than the rest.  Her sides are growing the slowest so they didn't get touched.
This past weekend, AR and I went to Lovey and Grand Daddy's house for a night so that I could go to a close friend's baby shower.  AR thoroughly enjoyed her time with her grandparents!

We are still fascinated by Elmo around here!

Happy (Very) Late Valentine's Day

I just can't seem to keep the blog up to date much these days and I'm not sure that's going to get any better.  Here are AR's pics we took to send to family as well as a few extras!  Hope you all had a great Valentine's Day.  We kept it low key around here.  Daddy had me a card and Jolly Rancher suckers which are my favorite and had AR some fruit snacks and stickers - two of her favs!  We did go to the Peddler the weekend before and enjoyed a very nice meal just the two of us!  Thanks to Mimi and Papa for babysitting!

This little girl will be 2 months from being 2 yrs old tomorrow!!  And just about 3 months from being a big sister!

Our Busy Bee and Her "Me Time"

Our little girl is constantly on the move it seems... with the exception of nap time and what we refer to as "me time".  "Me time" is when AR asks to go "night, night" but she means she just wants in her sleep sack with her paci, toys, music, and books.  Since I have restricted the sleep sack to the crib, that is where it takes place.  She has anywhere between 3-5 "me times" a day and it's something she asks for.  I'm not complaining b/c it gives me some "me time" too!  Though in the morning when we do blanket/room time, she sometimes asks for "night night" instead and I'll let her do that.

Other than this quiet time, she's on the go and can usually find something to busy herself with... this also means she makes quite the mess which you'll see in the pictures below.  I sometimes find myself singing "My Little Texas Tornado" to her since it looks like one came through our house after she's played.  Guess I should change TX to SC!

I'll let the pictures and captions catch you up on life with a 21 month old!
Reading some books
Snoozing with her doll Aunt Mollie made which has apparently taken on the name "Mollie"... seems appropriate I think!
The next day at nap time I found her like this and had to take a picture but tried to hurry which is why it's so cropped.  You could hear the book separating from her face when I removed it, haha.
And for evening entertainment around here this is what you might find us doing!

We even invited Luigi... Mario couldn't make it.

Hammering like daddy
While daddy sat on the couch the other evening, AR brought out her chairs and high chair and proceeded to "set the table" with dishes and food.  She then said (demanded) to daddy "Daddy, sit down" and they enjoyed their meal together.  I'm thinking a toy tea set may be on the birthday wish lish this year.
AR imagination is really growing and I'm loving watching her get into her own little world.  I often catch her doing something that she's recently seen one of us doing while playing which is always really cute.  I know that she's going to love having a playmate, though we got to wait a while for baby brother to be big enough to play!

Now, I guess I need to eat this felt cupcake in a bowl with the ladle AR just brought to me!
