Mission Trip and Father's Day

I'm going to start this post off by saying that if you follow this blog via facebook you will need to either bookmark this page or subscribe by entering your email address to the right.  This just means you'll receive an email telling you that I've updated.  I'm going to be taking a break from FB for a while so that I can focus better on being a wife, mom, and daughter of Christ.

Last week we went on a mission trip with my inlaw's church.  We stayed at Desoto State Park in Alabama and the men and some women worked on a couple of houses for two families who had lost their homes due to the tornadoes a couple years back.  I was unable to do much helping seeing as I was running around after a 1 year old and couldn't really take her to the work site.

This is the house that William was working at everyday.

The first couple days were miserable due to it raining nonstop!  However the church that was allowing us to eat in their fellowship hall was kind enough to let us also use their nursery.  As you might see below, Mollie, Grayson and Caroline were able to stay the week and AR was loving all her cousin time!
There she is... our little redneck!  AR has this thing about sipping water and then spitting it back out onto her clothes.  So I was attempting to dry out her shirt which is why she doesn't have one!
AR absolutely loves Grayson.
Most families from William's home church have some sort of camper so we all get to stay close to each other at the campground.  It's really so much fun and I just love being around their church family.  Everybody is so kind and really care about one another.

Unfortunately, I didn't take any pics of the campsite.  It was an extremely nice campground and we enjoyed it very much.  I did fail to mention above that all that rain revealed 4 leaks in our camper, one being right above the edge of our bed.  We had to move to the other bed for the rest of the week and put a tarp over the camper until the rain stopped.  Once the sun came up and stayed, it was so nice outside and we were able to remove the tarp which meant turning the AC back on!  This girl doesn't fair well without her AC... part of it is a curly hair thing and I wouldn't expect you to understand unless you have curly hair!  :)

Staying at a campground means using bathhouses which inturn means figuring out ways to bathe babies/toddlers.
First, you get them naked with the exception of shower shoes of course.  While you prepare the bath they can check out each others belly buttons.  (and her rear is not touching the ground I promise!)
Next, you fill up an 18 gallon tote and dump the babes in!  It also helps to know that the handicap stall has a portable shower head before the first bath, but hey as long as you figure that out before the next bath you're good!  Don't forget your red solo cup either for rinsing!  (you have my permission to pin these instructions for future camping trips!)
The 18 gallon tote is also great for outdoor play when you fill it up with water.  I can't believe ppl pay money for water tables!!  haha.
The girls eating lunch at the church.
On the last night of the trip we all went out to each.  Below are some pictures of the children and a couple of the adults too.

Trying not to let Mommie catch her!

Sweet Caroline

One man referred to Caroline as the "tackler" this past week!

This is how one travels back home after leaking through both her original outfit and the spare.  The bags were too deeply packed to find a 3rd!
I already can't wait for the next mission trip, although it is nice to be home (and take showers w/out sandals on)!

We arrived back home on Friday and then AR left with Aunt Katie and Uncle Clint on Sat. morning for Grand Daddy and Lovey's.  We had a wedding to attend that evening and then we also headed there.  I don't have any pics from the weekend except for Sunday night when we realized we needed some pics of AR with her daddy for Father's Day!
This girl was happy to be home!

Her new favorite sitting place... a doll bed.

She's starting to give hugs, that is when the stars are aligned just right and the mood strikes her.  She does love her daddy though!

Okay, that's enough.  Time to go!
Hard to tell in this picture but she is "singing".  Her mimi taught her to sing on the mission trip and we have been eating it up!

Daddy carrying her around in the doll bed.
Monday we spent some time outside which she loves.  Well, she loves it until she is leaning over the porch of the workshop trying to get a rock and falls off, landing on the side of her face.  I don't have any pics of her face but it is a bit scratched up now.
Somebody sees Tucker!

Can't figure out how to get back down.
Lovey found this slide for AR and we introduced her to it Monday.
She hasn't grasped the fact that you climb up the other side.

But whatever works right?!

Tucker had to go to his fenced off area after running into AR when trying to give her his tennis ball.  He was a good sport about it though!

New Pictures and Goal Update

Since it's 5am and I can't sleep, I'm going to try and be productive and write a blog.  Therefore, I apologize for any bad wording and spelling.

I mainly have some new pictures to share.
Everything is a phone to this girl.  I find it funny b/c I really don't talk on the phone that much.  If I am on the phone though, she will mimic me with her "phone" the entire time.  My favorite is when she tries to hold it under her chin with no hands.

I've seen this picture on pinterest and facebook lately and it is just so true!
Definitly True
And sometimes you have whole conversations with the "person" on the other end!
It amazes me how toddlers can eat and get it all over themselves and not even care!
Eating some spaghetti (her favorite!)

It makes it into the hair as well!
For dessert she had a green smoothie turned popsicle.
The other night William watched AR while I ran a few errands and the next day I found about 30 new pics on my our camera.  So here are a few!

AR's new face she makes.  This isn't the clearest but it's so funny when she does it.

"Brushing" her teeth!  For some odd reason she loves chewing on this comb.

And a few more pics from the past week:
Happy Girl!
Just this week she has started trying to put things on her feet.  It is rather humorous to watch.

As for my monthly goals, I'm a few days behind on updating... but what's new about that!

May's Goals:
1)  Clean out kitchen utensil drawer - Done, but wasn't able to really get rid of anything.
2)  Clean out/organize the cabinet with all cake pans and random containers - Got a basket at Micheal's Memorial Day sale and things are sooo much better now.  No more random things falling out when I open the door!
3)  Clean out bottom of china cabinet - Got another basket which helped things from falling out here too and set aside a few things for our yard sale later this summer.
4)   Drink 40 + oz of water a day - stopped really "counting" ounces
5)  Walk 120 minutes a week - Did for the most part, just didn't really keep track that well
6)  Make picture magnets for AR

June's Goals:  (Due to a very busy month, I'm only going to have a few goals...I already have a bigger list going for July)
1)  Start on our family yearbook for 2012
2)  Make backup picture cd's of pictures from our computer
3)  Make curtains for AR's room and a valance for the bathroom
4)  Complete at least 2 of my 6 gifts I have to make for upcoming babies and/or birthdays... that doesn't include the things I have lined up to make for AR.

Icing Bags, a Bathroom, and a One Year Old

This week I have lacked motivation for many things, including posting.  This coming week I must do better!

Last weekend my parents came down for the day and we enjoyed hanging out with them very much.  Abby Ruth loves being the center of attention and was eating up every bit that her grandparents were giving her!
Grand Daddy playing some instruments while Lovey tries to snap a pic.  AR loves to climb in and out of things these days.
Lovey brought a shopping cart and baby bed/book holder for AR to play with.  She has loved the cart and pushes it around all the time.  She also knows to go straight to it when I ask her where her baby is.
I have to admit that I helped her load her cart here, but she has figured it out now and I catch her putting items in it.
Here are more pics from the last week:
AR really likes the Golden Books like this for some reason.  I think it's the thin pages.
Don't run into anything!!
AR was entertaining the little boy I was keeping.  She would try to hand him things, including her paci.  (Please excuse the food on her cheek)

It has taken well over a year for this to show up, but usually after a nap a little curl will appear behind her one or both of ears!  It's funny that I hope she has curly hair when mine drives me insane sometimes.
The other night William said to me something to the nature of, "Please don't laugh at me when I ask you this, but do you have an extra icing bag I can use?"
And here he is, grouting with a Wilton icing bag AND tip!  The tip is a size 10 if you are ever needing to do this trick!!  ;)
I haven't really posted much on the bathroom as I was going to wait until the end and to a big transition post, but here is a little sneak peek.  It is actually all grouted and has doors now!
My husband has done an amazing job!
While William was "icing" with grout, I was using actual incing.  I made bubble bath cookies for a spa party a friend was throwing for her daughter.

I'll leave you with some "fresh" pictures that were just taken tonight!
William put her sunglasses on and she actually left them on for about a whole minute!  So funny!
Wearing her sunglasses like daddy does!
You wouldn't believe how much fun the insert out of a Johnny Jump-up can be!
You can sit on it.
You can try to step in it.
You can put it on your head.

You can pull it off and laugh!
You can try to get back in it... all while wearing your shades and croakies that is!
One other thing that I just love watching AR do is using her little thumbs to flip through a soft paper books.  It has amazed me at how early a child can do this.  Of course, trying to put your sunglasses back on yourself makes it more interesting!
Does anybody else see a tint of red in her hair?  Every now and then I see some auburn.
