He's 2!

As expected, #2 turned 2 even faster than the first!!  Where does the time go!?!

This year we just had a family get together for W's 2nd birthday and it was so nice to be able to have everybody out to our house again!  I attempted a "bug" theme but at 37 wks pregnant, I just didn't have it in me to bake and decorate a cake so we did a dirt cake with worms on it... and it was delish!

All boy!
First a little update on this active fella and then some birthday party pics!

W at 2 years old:
-36in. tall (87%), 31 lb. & 7oz (85%), and has a big ol' head... like we didn't expect that!
-super active and always on the go!
-loves all things boy: dinosaurs, bugs, monsters, animals, etc
-major flirt with the ladies
-starting to finally talk more... will try to repeat most things you say if they are 3 syllables or under and has started surprising me with a few words out of the blue (like "house" and "work")
-1/2 of his language is probably still in sounds... he identifies animals and vehicles by the sound they make rather than their name except for bird and fish
-loves to identify every object in the room by who it belongs to
-wears 3T tops and 2T bottoms
-still a very light sleeper but (knock on wood) has been sleeping through the night and many days the rest of us are awake before him... due to alarms and pregnant bellies of course!
-still takes a paci - mostly in the crib
-size 5 diapers and nighttime ones at night and this mama has NO desire to potty train ANY time soon (seriously y'all diapers are convenient and I'm willing to pay for them... though I admit, I look forward to daddy actually being able to take one to a public restroom when nature calls!)
-also no plans to move to a big boy bed for at least 6 more months
-gets our attention by first saying our names, then proceeds to "hit" us until we look... will even grab our face and turn it towards him if he can reach it
-loves to eat (which is one of his few words)
-can get fairly whiney... think this is an age/major change about to happen thing
-often laughs at spankings... which is a major no-no in this house... just leads to another!
-he is also a runner and runs away from me... another no-no!  he will learn!!
-he is one of those kids that people just want to eat up ... I know you think I'm biased but I witness it often!  They should take him home a few hours and they'd be sending him back!  He's got this mama's heart wrapped too though!
-likes to watch "Jake the Pirate", "Little Bear", and other shows... he even asked for Frozen the other day and about watched the entire thing (big sis probs!)
-has "me time" every morning that we are here... usually from 45 minutes to an hour
-his favorite toys are his horse, barn, and train set
-enjoys coloring and though he definitely colors out of the lines, you can tell which object he was trying to color
-loves his sissy and calls for her often... also mimics every.single.thing she does!
-is truly a sweet, sweet boy even though he can wear this mama flat out!

Oh how we love this little boy and thank the Lord for entrusting us with him!  I have found it so interesting to see the difference between boy and girl, first and second, and just two different children.  I can't wait to see him as a big brother, though I have a feeling he might not be thrilled at first!

Will received one of Daddy's old toys which I'm so glad that Mimi has saved these!  No sure daddy was ready to give it up though!!
So thankful for all who were able to come... but we sure did miss having Aunt Heather and her family there!
Papa and Daddy "grilling" the "grubs"

The Hayes kids made this birthday party extra special!

First picture of the four/five of us in months!!

AC loves some "puppy"... love the top pic where you still see her playing with him!

End of April and Beginning of May

Trying to do better with the blog... you know, right before the baby comes and I doubt I'll focus too much on it for a few months!

We've been mostly hanging around the house as I don't really care to go anywhere or take two kids to public bathrooms with me now that we are a month away from due date!  :)  I can't deny that God hasn't been helping prepare these two for this baby as I've been watching them become such good friends and playmates.  AR has stepped up to the plate in the sharing department (most of the time) and W seems to enjoy playing with her (most of the time).  I catch them in her room often for 20-30 minutes... and that long without somebody in tears is great by me!
Reading  to W in their new chairs
He loves to ride this toy though it's not meant for that!

Once again... if it's too quiet, there IS a reason!  Thank goodness he didn't open that $4-5 bag of quinoa on the floor!!  He was so stinking proud of himself!

We often go outside at least twice before Daddy comes home and then he takes them out again after supper.  This means bedtime is getting later but that's ok for now!

Our redneck sprinkler = a hose with a hole in it!

Two Sundays ago I actually thought to take a few pics while we all looked nice (and mama wasn't in daddy's basketball shorts).  I also needed another purposefully taken baby bump pictures, so here it is!

Spring Birthdays

If you talk to AR about the birthday party at Mimi and Papa's, she'll refer to it as "the four of ours birthday".  We were able to celebrate the four oldest cousins at one time this year as they have March, April, and May birthdays (guess we can throw this coming baby in there soon for a June birthday!)

We had hoped to have an actual picnic outside, but the weather would not permit!  So here is our inside set up:

We went with a plan white cake from Costco this year and I added too it... wasn't my best job for sure but I think it turned out alright:

W was able to actually blow his candle out from right there!

All 5 grandkids in one pic!
It was like Christmas all over again when it came to opening presents!

The big hit of the day... Blaze, the horse!  W has been loving this horse!
A few random pics from the weekend:

Aunt Sarah and Uncle Andrew, the fun aunt and uncle, got the big kids these neat bird houses and feeders and helped them to paint them.  The birds have loved eating from it!

W loves his time with his big cousin!
Thanks to Mimi and Papa for a fun weekend!  I only regret not getting more pictures, especially a big family one!
