He's Here!! (with lots of pics too!)

Our little boy arrived Friday, May 24th at 8:36 weighing 8lb 8oz and 20.5 inches long!  We are so in love again with our second child!

Friday morning I started having a few contractions and didn't pay them too much attention right at first but then remembered I had been that way with AR and they were in fact contractions!  So I called and told my MIL to be on alert and then told my mom who later decided that she and my dad would come on down... thank goodness for her instinct!  After lunch I was having a good many contractions, but nothing that made me bend over in pain and they were pretty sporadic.  Then by 5ish they started getting painful and closer together and when William got home around 6 and changed clothes, we headed to the hospital.  We checked in at about 6:50 and then waited a good 15-25 minutes for them to finally check me to find out I was 5cm.  They admitted us and we waited to be moved to a room... then they contractions got worse and closer and my water broke and things were on at this point.  I could tell the nurses were getting less and less confident that I'd get my epidural and my 9cm they were going to still try but I couldn't hold still and just had to start pushing.  I will spare some of the other details but I pushed about 6-7 times and he was here.  And it was instant relief!  As of right now, I plan for William and I to take some kind of natural birthing class if we have a third just to be safe... though I will try again to get the epidural!

Our first few pictures:

Mimi and Papa made it to the hospital to meet W the night he came... barely missing his arrival in their 45 minute drive!

We are enjoying our new addition and still trying to get adjusted to having two children.  AR seems to love him but is having some issues obeying and throwing some tantrums... it'll be interesting when it's just me.  Hopefully she'll adjust well once we get in a bit more of a routine.

Well, this blog took two days for me to do and so I don't anticipate many blogs back to back in the near future.  I will try to get some pics to you as much as I can though!  We have our 1 week checkup tomorrow so hopefully I can get an update soon!

A Bit of an Update

So I've been meaning to post for the past two weeks but just haven't gotten around to it.  I haven't taken a ton of pictures either so I'll post what I have.

We are down to 12 days away from our due date as of tomorrow with this baby boy.  I have just about everything I need to get done, done... I still look around and see things that I'd like to do but I'm getting more and more to the point where I just want to take it easy.  And honestly, my body is starting to make me take it easy as I'm a little more uncomfortable this go around.  I'm also not sleeping much, though I know from personal experience that it's about to be even less -  especially not being able to sleep when the baby sleeps this time.  All that said, it's totally worth it and I can't wait to meet this little guy and hold and kiss on him!

How about some pictures of AR and what she's up to these days?!
She found daddy's boots AND socks... which were thigh-highs on her!

She still loves her babies and it doesn't matter which one and she loves her bibles.  Here she's reading one of her bibles to a baby.
Feeding baby some oatmeal or applesauce!
Whenever I am cooking in the kitchen AR wants to be right beside me watching and now she's starting to imitate me.  Since my kitchen is rather small, I have to move ALL the ingredients to the opposite side of the stove making it tight on me, but I love having her there with me and love that she is excited about cooking... so far, that is!
She ran off to her kitchen and got some of her own utensils but I think she dirtied all of my measuring spoons... might need to run to the dollar store and get her some of her own!
If you needed proof that she's my daughter, here she is downing a hard boiled egg - one of my favorites!

The other week, AR and I headed down to Aunt Katie's farm and enjoyed playing on the tractors and seeing the animals.  She had just been there so she knew her way around and just what she wanted to do!  She even got out of the truck and said "combine" at the right tractor!!!!!!  I don't know one tractor from another!

Wearing her "I Love My Aunt" shirt... you can guess who bought her that one!
Petting Daisy
Trying out the tractors!

There's a good chance the next time your hear from me will be with an update on the birth of our little boy.  All prayers are greatly appreciated as we anticipate his arrival!
