April/May Goals

Time to see how I did on last months goals and update this month's... which is almost 1/2 way over :/.
April Goals:
1)  Drink at least 32 oz of water a day - I did a fairly good job of this, didn't always keep count, but my water intake was def. much better than previous months.
2)  Get at least 90 minutes of walking in each week - I did this most every week unless something just interfered.
3)  Clean headlights using this method - did and posted a picture in a previous post.
4)  Make a list of all family and friend birthdays for the "Notebook" - Typed but not printed... plan to keep adding to it for now.
5)  Clean out coat closet - Done!!!  I was able to get rid of just one coat, out of eight, which isn't too bad.  I do hope to replace it next cold season though with one I like.  I don't think eight is too excessive though, a few light weight, a few heavier, and a rain jacket.  If I had, say, 16 jackets, that might be a bit much.  I know, I know, who would have 16 jackets???  Oh, my husband, that's who!  And coming up with three jackets to get rid of was anything but easy for him.  Apparently he needs everyday jackets, work outside jackets, hunting jackets, and a few others.  AND each of those categories needs a light, medium, and heavy weight jacket of course.  I was proud of him for giving up three and I know how fortunate we are to have even one jacket each.
6)  Clean out basket under tv - I purged many items from this basket and am currently waiting on a cd/dvd notebook to arrive to that I can get rid of some cd/dvd cases.
7)  Complete "Your Girl" - Almost... only a few pages left and I usually read at lunch time so I only get about 5-10 pages read a day.  But can I say that it is a must read for mom's of daughters out there (Courtney, Meredith, and others, get a copy!).  I'm sooo glad I read it before having an 8+ year old daughter.  I will be pulling it back out when teaching AR (and other children, boy or girl) to pray, handle things at school, learn scripture, etc.
8)  Most importantly, celebrate my baby's 1 year birthday!!!! - A couple times!!  See previous posts!!

I'm happy with last months goals completion rate!

May's Goals:
1)  Clean out kitchen utensil drawer
2)  Clean out/organize the cabinet with all cake pans and random containers
3)  Clean out bottom of china cabinet
4)   Drink 40 + oz of water a day
5)  Walk 120 minutes a week
6)  Make picture magnets for AR

Nothing to difficult, but I also haven't really started on anything but the walking.  I blame the stomach bug. I am waiting/hoping for a big Memorial Day sale at Micheal's to buy some baskets for the cabinets... so I may be waiting to last minute on that one!

March/April Goals

Well, the time has come to reflect on my past months goals.  I do this mostly for me so feel free to skip this blog if you want!  I do intend to lay it all out there, the good and the bad and maybe some ugly.  I feel like to often I read blogs that make people's lives sound perfect and worry free.  As a blogger, I know it's easy to just write about what's going on in our lives without mentioning how stressed out you might be over a dirty house or how you really miss that 3rd nap in the evening b/c your 11 month old requires so much attention now.  Well, I want this blog to be "real" b/c we live in a real, fallen world... so I intend to do a better job putting it all out there for you (and me)!

Here's my March goal update (red=incomplete and blue=complete):
Goal #1:  Finally complete the office clean out/organization. - I did work on cleaning out the office and William helped downsize his books too.  I cleaned out the desk drawer and it looks awesome, at least to me.  I got rid of a few papers and this and that, but I honestly didn't get it as organized as I wanted.  Partly b/c of not having money to buy the organizational tools I'd really like and partly due to not having a great vision in my head of what/how to do it.  So, it is better but still has some ways to go.
Goal #2: Complete my Spring mantle decor (by March 20, 1st day of Spring) - Totally did this and I love it!  It was even up by the 15th I believe.

Found this cheese saver (which I'd never heard of) at a thrift store for $2 and painted the base gold.

Goal #3: Get rid of 100+ things.  Read about this here. - I have as of today reached 100 things!  I had to complete it this week due to being out of town earlier than expected last week.  We still have to take a load of it to the thrift store, but I completed it!
Goal #4: Complete the book "Your Girl" - I got through more than 1/2.  I decided for the beach that I was goign to read some books that required no thinking on my part and that's just what I did.  I am planning to complete this goal this month.
Goal #5: Get AR to have independent play pen time two times a day for at least 25 minutes each.  (unless we are not at home during these times aka church, grocery store, etc...) - Well, the good is that the morning one goes pretty well w/ a little crying at first and I mostly aim for 20 min. unless she's still playing.  The ugly is exactly what the evening one sounds like... crying as if the world has ended.  So I think I'm just going to drop that one unless I just have to do something and I'll just listen to her scream... I know she's just doing it to get out b/c as soon as I pick her up she's totally fine.  This brings me to the part where I admit that I don't really look foward to the time from 3-when daddy gets home.  She can entertain herself for the most part, it's just that she can't stay still doing so.  So she's all over the house and into things she shouldn't be and I can't get much done.  Reading all of those other blogs, the ones with the perfect kids and moms, makes me feel like I'm doing something wrong though I know I can't be the only one.
Goal #6:  Clean the Coffee Maker - I followed these directions and it didn't require much effort.  This was the first time doing this in our coffee maker that we've had for 3 1/2 years now.  Oh wow, I don't drink coffee so I haven't really ever thought much about doing it.
Goal #7:  Clean out junk drawer - Did this and threw away a lot of junk and got it organized.  Love my new battery organizer that even has a battery tester on it!

William's Goal (as decided by me of course):  To clean under/behind the garbage cans - Our garbage cans are behind a cabinet door that slides out when you pull it.  So the floor underneath them inside was n.a.s.t.y and it was just too gross for me... so I told William that was his April goal.  Well, he went ahead and did it and little did he know that means he now gets another April goal.  :)  It does look good though!

Well, three of my goals were not completely done but that's okay.  The monthly goals push me to work on them and therefore I did something even if not all.  I'm okay with what was done this past month.
